arissa logoArissa Media Group (AMG), founded in 2009, by Craig Rosebraugh, was bought by a small group of people in 2012, then later that year sold as a project to the Institute for Critical Animal Studies.  AMG, an all-volunteer publishing collective, is one of the only presses dedicated to publishing those that have been and are  incarcerated in prisons, jails, border detention facilities, juvenile detention facilities, and mental hospitals for prisoners. AMG strive to publish Authors of Color.

This press is a peer-reviewed press. The peer-review process includes (1) an anonymous review of two or more scholars with doctorates and who have an expertise in the submitted proposal’s field prior to the (2) book contract and (3) another anonymous review of two or more scholars with doctorates and who have an expertise in the finalized manuscript’s field prior to (4) page layout for print and formatting.
